New for 2008 Knoll's HDMI Decora™ Balun offers standard Decora™ wall plate mounting for great performance and stylish looks. Knoll Systems does it again! Knoll Systems announced the release of new HDMI baluns that use standard Decora™ wall plates. Distribute HDMI and infrared repeater signals anywhere in the home using two category 5 cables and the Knoll's HDMI balun system. Send DVD, cable TV, satellite and digital pictures and sound from a few feet to up to 120 feet (37 meters) of cable with no discernible video distortion or cable loss and better performance than the more expensive, specialized "designer" cables. As HDMI and High Definition becomes the standard Audio and Video for high definition the need for high performance ways to send these signals long distances is needed. Knoll Systems has been making virtually every other kind of baluns to the industry so when HDMI posed a problem Knoll was busy working on the solution. Once a HDMI balun was made in set top configuration Knoll thought it could be configured into a Decora™ style wall plate. Now dealers have a choice of either a small black set top box or the inwall standard Decora™ style.
